Perhaps I'm a Runner?

Flash-foward several months again and I've discovered that this whole running thing is an addiction...and I've gotten Greg hooked. Muahahah. :>

Follow my journey as I prepare for the Chicago Marathon and get in tip-top shape. A far cry from my days as a fat kid that took like 25 minutes to run a mile in gym class. If only Mr. Simpson could see me now...

Saturday is the day...maybe.

Running on the treadmill has successfully made me detest certain things around running, again. But I'm also able to focus on my breathing and form a little... which is much needed. Somehow the running goes more quickly if I have something to stare at across the room. Usually it ends up being something like a light switch or a bolt on a weight machine. Weird.

I cannot wait to run outside. I saw some online video magazines on the Running Company's website and became re-inspired. The woman they are following during her Mini training looks completely freaked out. Honestly, that kind of made me feel like a bad ass. I mean 13 is nothing to me. Maybe it should be. Anyway, I was excited about the idea of running outside with some other crazy Mini-trainers. There's something unifying about running outside in February in Indiana. It's great to see other crazies out there...

On that note, I noticed that it is supposed to be a little warmer on Saturday. Originally it was supposed to be a sweltering 48 degrees. Now it's down to 40. Will those 8 degrees deter Greg and me from doing 7 miles (bitches!) on the Monon?

Tune in next time to find out...

Distance: 4.15 miles
